"Don't Open Till Doomsday" is an episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 20 January 1964, during the first season.
"The greatness of evil lies in its awful accuracy. Without that deadly talent for being in the right place at the right time evil must suffer defeat. For unlike its opposite good, evil is allowed no human failings, no miscalculations. Evil must be perfect--or depend upon the imperfections of others."
In the 1920s, a pair of newlyweds receive a mysterious box-like object as a gift. The husband looks inside the box through a peephole and sees a grotesque creature. He cannot remove his eye from the box, and seemingly disappears out of existence.
Twenty-five years later an eloping couple arrive at the house, now a half-derelict mansion owned by Mrs. Kry, an eccentric old woman who turns out to be the aforesaid bride, turned insane after her husband disappeared. After the younger bride herself is beamed into the box, it is revealed that Mrs. Kry is luring young couples to her house, in the hope of "trading" them for her lost bridegroom with an alien intelligence residing inside the box. Later, the young bride's father arrives on location and is himself abducted by the alien, finding himself inside the box - actually a pocket dimension occupied by an amorphous, one-eyed creature from another universe. His daughter and Mrs. Kry's lost bridegroom are here as well.
The creature tells them it travelled to Earth with others of its kind, where they would combine their frequencies after arriving. However, it was unaccustomed to this kind of travel, and became separated from the others. The creature tells them they'll be freed on the condition they help him achieve his goal. Mr. Kry reveals that the alien's frequency was the annihilating frequency. If it joined the others, the Earth would be destroyed and then our entire universe. Mr Kry said he would not help it, and that if Mrs Kry helped directly he would stop loving her. The alien makes the same offer to the new bride's father. He agrees, as long as his daughter is let go as well. However, after they are released, he reveals that he was lying so they could escape. The alien transports the father back into the box. Realizing it cannot complete its mission and being further hindered by an angered Mrs. Kry, the enraged alien resorts to "uncreating" itself, obliterating the entire mansion in the process. The young couple manage to get away before that happens.
"Without that deadly talent for being in the right place at the right time evil must suffer defeat, and with each defeat doomsday is postponed for at least one more day."
